'GODZILLA X KONG: THE NEW EMPIRE' ADVANCE BOX OFFICE COLLECTION: ADAM WINGARD'S MONSTERVERSE SEQUEL GEARS UP FOR MASSIVE RS 10 CRORE DEBUT IN INDIA

'Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire' is poised to roar at the Indian box office and take a bite out of the competition with its highly anticipated release. The sequel to Adam Wingard's Monsterverse saga will see the titans Godzilla and Kong team up to take on a new villain - Scar King.

Much like the 2021 film 'Godzilla vs Kong', this film has also recorded good advance bookings, setting it up for a massive first weekend at the Indian box office. According to sacnilk.com, the movie has already scored an advance collection of Rs 2.5 crore in all languages.

With over 1.17 lakh tickets sold, excluding the 'blocked' seats, the film is off to a good start. 'Godzilla x Kong' will be release in 3D and 4D, besides the regular formats and will also be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi dubbed versions.

The Monsterverse saga has a huge market in the south, with the state of Tamil Nadu expected to pull in the highest numbers with a collection of Rs 1.32 crore, followed by Telangana raking in Rs 66 lakh and Karnataka coming in third with a collection of Rs 55.14 lakh. Andhra Pradesh is expected to score a collection of Rs 48.94 lakh and Maharashtra rounding off the top 5 with a collection of Rs 34.92 lakh.

With over 40,000 tickets already sold for the opening day, a day before the official release, the stage is set for a triumphant debut. The fervour surrounding 'Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire' is expected to translate into substantial earnings, with projections indicating an impressive box office figure of Rs 10.50 crores nett.

With the Good Friday holiday and Easter weekend, industry analysts anticipate a strong start, indicating that the film, much like its 2021 predecessor, could be up for a double-digit start at the box office. The film to rake in between Rs 10-11 crores nett, however, numbers could surpass the mark.

Back in 2021, 'Godzilla vs Kong' had a strong opening day collection of Rs 6.30 crore. The film's appeal transcended language barriers, with earnings of Rs 4 crore in English, Rs 0.85 crore in Tamil, Rs 0.80 crore in Hindi, and Rs 0.65 crore in Telugu.

The excitement surrounding the epic clash continued into the first weekend, with the film grossing a staggering Rs 28.4 crore.

As the weeks progressed, Godzilla vs. Kong maintained its momentum, ultimately culminating in a total collection of Rs 45.82 crore.

With such promising numbers and unparalleled excitement surrounding its release, 'Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire' is poised to make a colossal impact on the Indian box office scene. It will clash with the release of the Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu and Kriti Sanon starrer 'Crew' that also releases this weekend.
