FAST & FURIOUS 11 DIRECTOR TEASES RELEASE DATE AND FANS ARE SUPER EXCITED

Dom Teretto and his family are all set to come back to the big screen with the next part of the Fast and Furious franchise. Marking the beginning of the end of the Fast saga, the film will wrap up the story as it was left in the previous film, Fast X, thus already building up a lot of hype among fans. While the new Fast & Furious sequel has been intrinsically linked with the previous part, unlike the other films, it is expected to be the final film of the long-spanning franchise.

Director Louis Leterrier recently shared some exciting updates on the production timeline of the film. Speaking at the CCXP Mexico, Leterrier revealed his upcoming schedule with the audience, indicating a busy year ahead for him.

Mentioning that he has a horror film to shoot this summer, the director added, “It’s happening. It’s happening very, very soon. I’m finishing my horror movie on September 15th, and I start Fast on September 16th.”

Fast 11 will come out in 2026

During the discussion, Leterrier also clarified the previously made remarks by Tyrese Gibson about their shooting schedule which he suggested would begin early next year. “Tyrese is always right. Watch his Instagram!” he jokingly told the audience.

During this time, the director shared some exciting details about the setting and closure of the franchise, revealing that the final film will come full circle by returning to Los Angeles, where it all began. “It’s filming early next year, and it’s coming out in 2026, which will be exactly to the day, 25 years since the first one came out,” he further shared.

These revelations came days after Gibson spoke about the behind-the-scenes going on stuff for Fast 11, hinting that the production timeline doesn’t seem to be on track with the April 2025 release date.

Fast 11 is presently in the early stages of development and not many details about the story and the casting have been made. However, Vin Diesel is likely to return as the lead followed by others like Jason Statham, Helen Mirren, and Gal Gadot among others. A few others are also expected to reprise their roles. Also, Dwayne Johnson’s appearance in the post-credit scenes suggests that he might have a larger role in Fast 11, alongside possible returns of Eva Mendes as Monica Fuentes.
