RANA DAGGUBATI SAYS KALKI 2898 AD WILL BE AN ‘AVENGERS MOMENT’: ‘EVERYONE IN THE WORLD WILL CONNECT’
Rana Daggubati is brimming with excitement as he gears up to star alongside superstar Rajinikanth in the upcoming film Vettaiyan. In a recent interaction, the Baahubali actor shared insights about the film, describing its storyline as "unusual". He also expressed his anticipation for Nag Ashwin's upcoming project, Kalki 2898 AD, calling it to an "Avengers moment from our side".
During a podcast with Vamshi Kurapati, Rana praised the well-researched narrative of Vettaiyan. He said, "The story [of Vettaiyan] is very unlike a usual Rajinikanth garu’s film. It is amazing that he is doing a film like that. The film has a very large cast, Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil. It's a drama which involves the judiciary, police, and entrepreneurial systems. It’s a very well-researched story. I am very happy that Rajinikanth chose the film and I could be a part of it.”
Rana Daggubati also lauded his "good friend" Nag Ashwin's upcoming venture Kalki 2898 AD and highlighted its universal appeal. He said, "The next big moment is Kalki. Nag Ashwin is a very dear friend. Not just India and the Indian diaspora but everyone in the world will connect to Kalki. For a long time, I have been waiting for an Avengers moment from our side. That’s what has excited me to be part of it."
Regarding Vettaiyan, speculation suggests that the film will unfold as a gripping, action-packed saga inspired by true events. Reports further indicate that Rajinikanth will portray the role of a Muslim police officer. Produced by Lyca Productions, the film boasts the music of Anirudh Ravichander and is helmed by director TJ Gnanavel.
Coming to Kalki 2898 AD, it is a epic sci-fi dystopian film featuring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani in pivotal roles. Bankrolled by C Aswani Dutt under the banner of Vyjayanthi Movies, the music for Kalki is composed by Santhosh Narayanan.
