TV INDUSTRY RALLIES BEHIND ACTOR KRISHNA MUKHERJEE AS SHE ACCUSES SHUBH SHAGUN PRODUCER OF HARASSMENT, NOT PAYING HER: ‘THEY LOCKED ME IN MY MAKEUP ROOM’

Krishna Mukherjee, known for her lead role in Shubh Shagun, has come forward with allegations of harassment against the show's producer, Kundan Singh, in a recent Instagram post. Mukherjee claims that Singh has yet to pay her a significant sum owed for her work on the show. Singh has denied all allegations and threatened legal action against the actor.

Krishna Mukherjee alleges harassment on set

Mukherjee details her alleged experiences on the show's set in the Instagram post, stating, “It all started when I started doing my last show Shubh Shagun for Dangal TV. That was the worst decision of my life,” she writes. She goes on to allege harassment by the production house and Singh, claiming that she was once locked in her makeup room when unwell and unwilling to shoot due to unpaid wages. She added, “The production house and the producer @kundan.singh.official has harassed me so many times. They even once locked me in my makeup room because I was unwell and I decided not to shoot because they were not paying me for my work.”

She also claims that the producers haven’t cleared her dues for 5 months now. “I was given dhamki many times. I felt unsafe, broken and scared throughout. I asked for help from so many people but nothing. Nobody could do anything about it. People ask me why I am not doing any show? This is the reason. I am scared what if the same thing happens again? I need justice,” she wrote.

Krishna gets support from fellow TV actors

Several actors have voiced support for Mukherjee, with Surbhi Chandna commending her bravery. She wrote, "You are brave & courageous to have spoken the harsh reality of the industry we are in .. nobody should be given the right to feel they own us and in no way they do please understand in this battle you are not fighting alone Krishna we all extend our support. You are a hardworking talent and you deserve what is rightfully yours."

Actor Shraddha Arya wrote, "That’s Terrible , let’s all get together and serve them right!!!! You’re not alone @krishna_mukherjee786 !!!" Avika Gor wrote, "I'm so sorry that this happened with you. This makes me so angry!" Other actors like Aditi Bhatia, Avinash Mishra, Pavitraa Puniya, Neena Kulkarni also spoke in support of Krishna.

Producer Kundan Singh denies allegations

Producer Kundan denied the claims made by Krishna, asking his Instagram followers to ‘beware of lies.’ He wrote on Instagram, “It’s sad to see how it’s so easy for some people to make false accusations. I must clarify that all the accusations being made are false and frivolous, and strict legal action will be taken against all culprits.”

Singh alleges that Mukherjee previously filed a false FIR against two other individuals from the production house, which he claims was motivated by personal vendetta rather than genuine grievances. He wrote, “During that time me and my team strongly stood with her and her family and helped her at every step, I was even in touch with her father throughout the matter. As a disciplinary action I even fired both the employees immediately, though later came to know that the allegations she put on them were false and only for the sake to settle her personal grudge.” He added, “She took a step ahead for false financial claim, we had reached out to her for legal proceeding but she refusing to come which is already in the record of City Civil Court, Mumbai.”

Krishna seeks help from CINTAA

Despite her ordeal, Mukherjee shares that her attempts to seek assistance from the Cine and TV Artistes Association (CINTAA) proved fruitless. Undeterred, she also approached the Crime Branch, intending to address the matter after receiving a court notice from the producer. However, according to Mukherjee, Kundan Singh failed to appear for the scheduled meeting. She said, "He has claimed online that he sent but we never showed up. But let me tell you, three of us went. This man never showed up. Rather, no one from his team or representative showed up."

During the interaction, Krishna also recalled how her co-star Shehzad Dhami rescued her when she was locked in her makeup van. She said, "You can ask Shehzada Dhami also. I don't think he will lie over such a thing. He is the one who opened the door for me. He rescued me when I locked myself in the room. He is going through a lot right now, so I get it if he is not sharing his story. But I can assure you, if he is asked about all this, he won't lie."
