SBI CUSTOMERS? PAY MORE FOR DEBIT CARD USAGE FROM APRIL 1 – CHECK FULL LIST OF CHARGES

The State Bank of India (SBI) has revised the annual maintenance charges for different categories of SBI debit cards, including Classic, Silver, Global, and Contactless, that will take effect on April 1. As per the official website, there will be a revision in the current annual maintenance fees starting next month.

The annual maintenance fees for various SBI debit card categories, including Yuva, Gold, Combo and Platinum Debit Cards, have been increased by Rs 75.

The revised rates of SBI debit card holder are as follows:

  1. The charges of Classic, Silver, Global, Contactless categories have been increased to Rs 200+ GST from Rs 125+ GST
  2. The charges of Yuva, Gold, Combo Debit Card, My Card categories have been increased to Rs 250+ GST from Rs 175+ GST
  3. The charges of Platinum debit card have been increased to Rs 325+ GST from Rs 250+ GST
  4. The charges of Pride Premium Business debit card have been increased to Rs 425+ GST from Rs 350+ GST

The public lender will also alter the fees associated with issuing and replacing debit cards. Starting from April 1, there have been a number of adjustments made to specific credit cards which include suspension of certain credit cards from being able to accrue reward points on rent payment transactions. Meanwhile, accumulated reward points on the transaction of rent payment for some credit cards will run out on April 15.

SBI has also notified the changes in issuance fees among other services for the debit card holders besides revision in its annual maintenance charges. As per the bank notification, SBI account holders will now be required to pay a minimum of Rs 300 for applying for a Platinum debit card, however, there are no charges for the issuance of Classic, Silver, Gold and Contactless debit cards.

Furthermore, a fee of Rs 25 along with the GST will be required from the account holders for the balance enquiry at ATMs under International transaction charges. Other transaction charges include a minimum of Rs 100 and 3.5% of the transaction amount plus GST on ATM cash withdrawal transactions.
