APPLE WATCH ULTRA 3 TO LAUNCH ALONGSIDE IPHONE 16 SERIES IN 2024: REPORT

Apple is likely to unveil its third 'Ultra' watch in September 2024, alongside the iPhone 16 series, a report from Macrumors, backed by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, suggested. According to the report, Apple will also announce an affordable third-gen Apple Watch SE.

It looks like Apple might follow an annual launch cycle for the Watch Ultra series, while stitching to a biannual cycle for the Watch SE. We can also expect the launch of the highly anticipated Apple Watch X in 2024 or 2025, according to Bloomberg.

Not much is known about the features and specifications of the Watch Ultra 3. It might come with a design similar to its predecessor but with a new chip and a bigger battery.

The Watch Ultra 2 (review) is currently the flagship Apple smartwatch. It is a rugged smartwatch with an aerospace-grade Titanium case and a 1.92-inch OLED display protected by Sapphire crystal glass. This can go up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness and can get up to 36 hours of battery life.

It is powered by an in-house S9 processor, the most powerful silicon ever featured on an Apple Watch. This also powers the Watch Series 9.

The Ultra 2 has all the features found on a regular Apple Watch, including ECG, heart rate monitoring, and blood oxygen monitoring (in select markets), and it also comes with a customisable action button. The Watch Ultra 2 currently sells for Rs 89,900, and the upcoming Watch Ultra 3 is expected to be priced similarly.
