The iPhone 15 launched in September last year and people waited in long lines outside Apple stores to get their hands on the latest iPhone. The phone made a lot of headlines majorly for two things - Dynamic Island notch in all models and Type-C charging port. Before this, Apple was using the lightning port for charging in iPhones and the Dynamic Island notch was restricted to only the Pro models in the iPhone 14. Hence, the iPhone 15 became a raging sensation and people are still buying the device, months after its launch. As per Counterpoint Research's Global Monthly Handset Model Sales Tracker, the iPhone 15 Pro Max emerged as the top-selling smartphone in the first quarter of this year.Â

This is the first time that the iPhone 15 Pro Max has topped sales during a non-holiday quarter, highlighting a shift towards more premium smartphones among consumers. The entire iPhone 15 series, along with the iPhone 14, dominated the bestsellers list, with the top three spots held by the newer models.
While the iPhone 15 Pro Max is at the top spot, the next spot is occupied by the vanilla iPhone 15. On the third spot, there is the iPhone 15 Pro and on the fourth spot is the iPhone 14.Â
About iPhone 15 lineup
The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max feature a Grade 5 titanium body which promises to make the phone more durable, as well as lighter in weight. The phones sport a 6.1 inch and 6.7 inch Super Retina XDR display with 'thinnest borders ever' on an iPhone. The front features a ceramic shield for an added layer of protection. Additionally, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max have a USB Type-C charging port.
The phones feature a dynamic island notch and Apple also introduced the action button, instead of the regular mute button, that will have more functionality. Both phones are powered by the all-new A17 Pro processor and have an enhanced camera performance as well.
Coming to the iPhone 15 specifications, the phone comes with a 6.1-inch display and was launched in five colour options - pink, yellow, green, blue, and black. For the iPhone 15, Apple retained the same design as the iPhone 14 and previous models this time as well. However, instead of the usual notch, we got a Dynamic Island notch, which was a hit with the iPhone 14 Pro models last year. Coming to the processor, the iPhone 15 is powered by Apple's A16 bionic chip.
There were also some major upgrades in the camera department as the iPhone 15 comes with a 48-megapixel primary camera sensor this time. The phone also promises better low-light photography and portrait shots. In terms of battery, the tech giant said during the launch event that the iPhone 15 comes with an "all-day battery life".
