IOS 17.5 UPDATE WILL INTRODUCE THESE NEW FEATURES TO YOUR IPHONE

Tech giant Apple is currently beta-testing the iOS 17.5 build, which could be the last major iOS 17 update ahead of the iOS 18 release. The hidden code of the iOS 17.5 beta has now shed light on some of the new features the iOS 17.5 will introduce. Check out some of the most prominent features of the iOS 17.5 update, which will be available in the next few weeks.

With the upcoming iOS 17.5 update, developers can now directly offer their apps on the web without depending on the App Store or a third-party app market. This feature will be limited to iPhone users in the European Union.

To become eligible for web distribution, a developer has to register on the Apple Developer Program for at least two years, and the app should have over one million annual installs in the EU. This will allow iPhone users to download and install third-party apps directly from the developer’s official website rather than the App Store or a marketplace.

Quartiles word game

If you are a wordle fan, then you will definitely love this feature. Apple News+ is gaining a new word-based game called Quartiles, where a user has to combine a series of mini words to find the complete word, and for each correct answer, the user will earn points. Solving all five puzzles will earn 40 bonus points. This game will be included alongside the Crossword and Crossword Mini, which will be integrated with the Game Center as a new puzzle game.

While Apple News+ is available in markets like the US, UK, Australia, and Canada, the new puzzle games are currently limited to Apple’s primary markets like the US and Canada.

Customisable Podcast widget

iOS 17.5 is reintroducing the colour-changing podcast widgets, which will match the colour scheme of the album art. This feature was first introduced on the iOS 17.4 update, however, the feature was removed in the stable build of the same. And now, the same has been spotted on the iOS 17.5 build, and it is likely to be made available for everyone with the stable release.

iPadOS 17.5 update is also introducing plenty of new features for iPads, including an enhanced battery health menu, and more insights into the battery status, which can now show charge cycle count and maximum remaining battery capacity. On top of that, the source code also hints at a new Apple Pencil, possibly compatible with the upcoming iPad Pro and iPad Air models. iOS 17.5 and iPadOS 17.5 will be available for all the iPhones and iPads eligible for iOS 17 update.
