SAMSUNG SAYS MILLIONS HAVE TRIED GALAXY AI, UPDATE COMING TO THESE DEVICES STARTING FROM MARCH 28: CHECK FULL LIST HERE

Galaxy AI is set to arrive on last year’s flagship devices like the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy Tab S9, Samsung has announced. The South Korean tech major said in a press release that the One UI 6.1 update with Galaxy AI features will be rolled out to these devices starting from March 28. The features were previously limited to the Galaxy S24 series devices and were recently made available on the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, Galaxy Buds 2 and Galaxy Buds FE earbuds.

Select Galaxy devices were confirmed to get the features in the first half of 2024 so you can say that Samsung is right on schedule. But it has even bigger plans. TM Roh, president and head of MX Business at Samsung Electronics, in an interview with the Korea Herald said, the company plans to roll out the features this year to about “100 million Galaxy smartphones for the global expansion of mobile AI.” Millions of people have tried Galaxy AI, the latest press release says.

What’s interesting is that Samsung intends to bring all of the Galaxy AI features from the Galaxy S24 series to last year’s flagships at least. This means everything from circle to search to live translate and generative edit will be coming to more devices with the One UI 6.1 update.

The Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Z Flip 5 are the usual suspects, but Samsung is also giving the relatively entry-level Galaxy S23 FE a jumpstart with AI smarts. The Galaxy Tab S9 tablets are also eligible for the upgrade. The Galaxy Buds update was a bit of a surprise but one that would be appreciated even as Samsung looks at generative AI to differentiate its product set from rivals, particularly Apple.
