DORF KETAL CHEMICALS ACQUIRES US-BASED IMPACT FLUID SOLUTIONS

Dorf Ketal Chemicals India Private Limited, a global leader in the specialty chemicals industry, announced on May 9 it has acquired Impact Fluid Solutions, a premier provider of downhole fluid additives used in a range of industrial drilling applications.

The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Dorf Ketal Chemicals is a privately-owned global specialty chemicals company based in Mumbai, with operations in the Asia Pacific, China, Europe, Middle East, South America and North America.

With headquarters in Houston, Texas, and a Global Technology Centre in Cornwall, UK, Impact develops and markets a proprietary portfolio of technologically advanced downhole chemistries deployed across industries including onshore and offshore oil and gas production and geothermal power generation. Its drilling and cementing additives are low-toxicity, biodegradable compounds that protect the wellbore against fluid and pressure invasion while reducing the consumption of water and other materials.

EY India advised Dorf Ketal on this transaction.

The acquisition significantly expands Dorf Ketal’s robust suite of solutions for oil and gas production. The business had a turnover of approximately $60 million in the calendar year 2023.

“Impact will bring additional strategic assets, innovative new technology, talented people and strong customer relationships to Dorf Ketal,” said Subodh Menon, Dorf Ketal’s Founder and Vice Chairman.

“This acquisition supports our continued sustainable global growth, further enabling us to provide innovative services across a wide range of industries while reducing the environmental impact of our business and our customers’ operations,” he added.

Curtis Huff, Chairman of Impact, said the acquisition will enable the company to leverage Dorf Ketal’s global reach and infrastructure to accelerate its growth.

“It’s an excellent fit culturally, as both companies are deeply committed to promoting sustainable business practices and contributing to the communities we serve. Dorf Ketal’s size and strength will improve Impact’s ability to serve existing clients and help us penetrate new global markets,” said Huff.
