ALLU ARJUN TEASES PUSHPA 2’S FIRST SINGLE IN NEW VIDEO; DSP’S CATCHY TITLE TRACK TO RELEASE ON THIS DATE. WATCH

He is coming to rule, and it will begin with a song. Superstar Allu Arjun on Wednesday dropped the teaser of the first single from his upcoming actioner Pushpa 2. The new track is composed by Devi Sri Prasad, who was also behind the chartbuster music of the first instalment.

The new song video shows a glimpse into the world of the film, as the titular character is hyped by the vocals--and also the name of the song--"Pushpa Pushpa". The vocals, given a techno twist with rhythmic beats, add to the myth building of the lead, as the montage shows Pushpa doing his iconic pose and ends with the reveal date: "First single 'firing' on May 1."

Allu Arjun took to X and posted the teaser, writing, "#Pushpa2FirstSingle “Pushpa Pushpa” will be out on May 1st at 11:07 AM." Fans of Allu Arjun as well as the franchise were pumped with the announcement, with one user writing, "This is a dope shot and everyone please wait for the full song.. all the DSP song are slow poison. He will never disappoint for bhai and Sukumar."

Helmed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, and Sunil, reprising their respective roles from the first film, which had led to Allu Arjun bagging a National Film Award for his act.

The highly anticipated film is set to release on August 15, coinciding with Independence Day. Pushpa 2 is said to be one of the biggest films of the year, with many in the trade hoping that it would emerge as a historic blockbuster.

Pushpa 2 was earlier supposed to clash with Singham Again in August, but the Rohit Shetty directorial has in likelihood pushed to Diwali, leaving the ground open for the actioner. Singham Again stars Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor with cameos by Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Tiger Shroff.
