'CONGRESS, INDI ALLIANCE WENT INTO PANIC MODE AFTER...': PM MODI ON HIS 'INFILTRATORS' REMARK

Two days after his comments triggered an uproar among the Opposition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that the "truth put forth the nation" created panic in the INDIA bloc and Congress.

"The day before yesterday in Rajasthan I put forth some truth in front of the country and the entire Congress and INDI alliance went into a panic. I put forth the truth that Congress is plotting to snatch your property and distribute it to their special people," Modi said during a rally in Rajasthan's Tonk-Sawai Madhopur.

On Sunday, the prime minister invoked a 2006 speech where Manmohan Singh said that the “first claim” to India’s vast resources will be given to Muslims.

"When I exposed their politics, they got so angry that they started abusing Modi...I want to know from Congress why are they so afraid of the truth. Why do they hide their policy so much, when you yourself made the policy then why are you afraid to accept it now...If you have the courage then accept it, we are ready to face you," Modi said on Tuesday.

'Congress wanted to give reservation to Muslims'

Furthering his argument that the erstwhile Congress government prioritised the Muslim community, Modi said, "The truth is that when the Congress and INDI Alliance were in power, they wanted to give separate reservation to their special vote bank by breaking into the reservation of Dalits and backward classes. Whereas the Constitution is completely against this."

He added, "The right to reservation which Baba Saheb gave to Dalits, backward classes and tribals, the Congress and INDI Alliance wanted to give it to Muslims on the basis of religion."

What would have happened if Congress retained power in 2014?

PM Modi gave a reality check by listing out instances of what the country would be like if Congress had been voted back to power in 2014.

"In 2014, when you gave Modi the opportunity to serve in Delhi, the country took decisions that no one had imagined. But if the Congress had been in power, stones would still be pelted at our forces in Jammu and Kashmir," he said.

"One Rank One Pension would not have been implemented for our soldiers, bomb blasts would have been taking place in the country if Congress was in power. Congress had committed the sin of protecting the Rajasthan serial blast accused...If Congress was in power, it would have found new ways of corruption for itself," the Indian leader added.
