DELHI BJP MEDIA HEAD FILES DEFAMATION CASE AGAINST ARVIND KEJRIWAL, ATISHI MARLENA

Delhi BJP's media head Praveen Shankar Kapoor on Monday moved a Delhi court with a defamation case against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his minister Atishi Marlena.

Kapoor filed a criminal defamation complaint accusing Kejriwal and Marlena of making 'baseless allegations' that the BJP was trying to poach AAP MLAs by bribing them to join the party.

Kapoor has claimed that these allegations are false and baseless. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tanya Bamniyal listed the matter for May 4 for pre-summoning evidence.

Earlier this month, the BJP had sent a defamation notice to Delhi minister Atishi following her claim that she had been approached to join the party or face arrest by the Enforcement Directorate within a month.

Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor, who has now filed the defamation case, had sent the legal notice to Atishi and demanded a public apology from her after she alleged that the ruling party had threatened her with arrest and had approached her to switch allegiance.
