Omaha, the most populous city in Nebraska, was under a severe tornado warning Saturday after a twister was spotted at Elkhorn, a neighborhood, and Waterloo and Bennington in the Doughlas County. The National Weather Service asked residents to take shelter immediately. A rare‘Tornado Emergency’ has been issued for suburbs of Omaha for ongoing violent tornado.

"West Omaha residents, please seek shelter. Tornado moving into Elkhorn area," the Omaha Police Department said on X, platform formerly known as Twitter.
Social media alerted other residents about the tornado in Elkhorn, Waterloo and Bennington. "A destructive #tornado is moving over Elkhorn now. Please say a prayer 🙏 for those in the path. This is an exceptionally dangerous situation. #NEwx," one person said.
"Extremely large tornado on the ground in Waterloo, NE Get underground if you can, if you have time to leave, then leave," another one posted along with an image.

Meanwhile, a tornado warning has been issued for multiple Nebraska counties. It will remain in effect until 4:15 PM local time for the following counties: Antelope, Boone, Butler, Cass, Douglas, Gage, Jefferson, Madison, Platte, Saline, Sarpy, Saunders and Seward.
