RAJASTHAN MINISTER GETS DEATH THREAT FOR 'FORCING TRIBALS TO CONVERT TO HINDUISM'

A case has been lodged against an unidentified person for issuing death threats to Rajasthan cabinet minister, Babulal Kharadi, via social media. He got a threat in the comments section of his Instagram account three days before, police said on Friday.

The comment warned of dire consequences, stating, "Politics will continue, but you will be killed first. Your results will come before the Lok Sabha elections.

The unidentified person accused Kharadi, who holds the portfolio of tribal area development, of pressuring tribals to convert to Hinduism.

The comment was read by Babulal Kharadi's son, who then informed the minister, and they went to the police and the district administration.

A senior police official told India Today that the investigating agencies are working round the clock to track down the IP address used to post the threatening comment to the minister.

Officials also said that teams have been put on alert to identify the accused who sent the message.

Sources said the minister's security arrangements may also be tightened once the threat assessment is ascertained.

This isn't the first instance of Babulal Kharadi receiving death threats. Previously, he had received a similar threat via WhatsApp.

In a similar incident, Sheo MLA and independent candidate from Barmer-Jaisalmer seat Ravindra Singh Bhati received a threat that led to the arrest of an accused by the local police. His security arrangements were also strengthened as a result.
