TELANGANA SCHOOL VANDALISED AFTER TEACHERS OBJECT TO SAFFRON DRESS OF STUDENTS

Members of a religious outfit staged a protest and vandalised a school in Telangana's Mancherial district after teachers allegedly objected to some students wearing 'Hanuman Deeksha dress'. The teachers of Mother Teresa School allegedly did not allow the students to enter the classroom.

Following a complaint by the parents of the students, a case was registered on Wednesday against a school correspondent and the principal under sections 153(A) (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion or race) and 295(A) (insulting religious feelings).

The school management, however, said the principal had only asked the students to bring their parents after noticing that they were not wearing the school uniform.

Later, members of a religious group started protesting outside the school, demanding action against the management for barring the students from entering the school and appearing for their annual examinations citing the Hanuman deeksha dress.
