VISHAL BHARDWAJ ON FILM WITH SRK, CASTING KARTIK AARYAN AS DON HUSSAIN USTARA

In the last few months, there were reports of Vishal Bhardwaj collaborating with Shah Rukh Khan for a film. Apart from that, Kartik Aaryan is also said to be playing the lead in Bhardwaj's next, a biopic on Don Hussain Sheikh, who was also known as Hussain Ustara. Speaking exclusively to IndiaToday.in, the filmmaker shed light on both the rumoured projects.

Talking about the buzz about him directing Shah Rukh Khan in a film, the 'Omkara' director smiled and said, "It has been happening for so many decades. Insha Allah, this time, I pray this rumour comes true."

The filmmaker then took a rather safe path when quizzed about his film with Kartik Aaryan. Without divulging any details, he simply said, "We are still working on it. We will soon reach the right time to talk about it officially."

Will Vishal Bhardwaj ever go back and make something for the young audience, as he did with 'Makdee'? He responded, "Those were my young days too, and I was sort of a rebel. I used to take chances and do these things. I do think of going back and rediscovering that side someday."

Speaking about making another William Shakespeare adaptation, Bhardwaj said with a loud laugh, "That's my FD (fixed deposit). It hasn't matured yet, so we will have to wait."

Vishal Bhardwaj's last film 'Khufiya' streamed on Netflix and received positive reviews. The espionage drama starred Tabu, Ali Fazal and Wamiqa Gabbi in the lead roles. He had also made his OTT series debut with 'Charlie Chopra'.
