HEAVY RAIN IN HYDERABAD TRIGGERS TRAFFIC NIGHTMARE, CITY GRINDS TO A HALT

Following weeks of scorching heatwave conditions in Telangana, Hyderabad faced a drastic turn of events. Heavy rain and thunderstorms hit Hyderabad Tuesday evening, disrupting electricity supply, and creating traffic congestions across the city. Many residents shared photos and videos on social media platforms.

But, the video that made social media wake up was the traffic congestion near IKEA on Mindspace Road Survey, Panmaqtha, which put the city to a stop. In the video, all you can see is a sea of vehicles, barely moving.

Despite the inconvenience, some residents expressed happiness at the much-needed rainfall.

The downpour led to waterlogging on roads in various parts of the city, and several trees were uprooted. The Disaster Response Force (DRF) personnel of GHMC worked to clear waterlogged roads, an official release stated.
