BTS' J-HOPE RECEIVES EARLY PROMOTION TO SERGEANT FOR EXEMPLARY MILITARY SERVICE

BTS' J-hope has reportedly been promoted from corporal to sergeant. The rapper seemingly received an early promotion due to his skills.

BTS' J-hope receives an early promotion in military

On May 1, as per the official Camp Soldier Star application, BTS' J-hope received an early promotion to the rank of Sergeant. While the Arson rapper was supposed to be promoted in July 2024, he reportedly received an early promotion for his exceptional service in the military.

For the unversed, on April 18, 2023, J-hope enlisted in the military as an active-duty soldier. He had entered the 36th Infantry Division recruit training center in Wonju, Gangwon Province to receive five weeks of basic military training before being transferred to his current station. Following his training, the rapper made it to the Special Class Elite Warrior and was promoted to corporal. The rapper will be discharged in October this year.

Fans were quick to congratulate J-hope across social media. "Congratulations, Sergeant Jung Hoseok. We can't wait to have you back," on fan wrote. Another added, "Congrats on the early promotion, Sergeant Jung Hoseok!!! So proud of you," while a third tweeted, "From the beginning of the military era, I always knew you will did everything so well. Because you always try to do the best wherever you are. But seeing everything you have achieved makes me so proud and inspired! Thank you, Hoseok!"

On the work front

Before enlisting for mandatory military service in April last year, J-hope had released his debut solo album Jack In The Box in July 2022 as well as collaborative singles with J.Cole and Crush. On March 29 this year, J-hope released his new project, Hope On The Street. The project includes a documentary that follows J-hope's story as a dancer as well as a new album, Hope on the Street Vol 1.
