MICHIGAN TORNADO TRACKER: TWISTER HEADED TO HILLSDALE, JACKSON AND BATTLE CREEK AMID EMERGENCY

The large violent tornado that left an impact in Kalamazoo and Potrage is headed to Hillsdale and Jackson. This comes as an emergency warning has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Union City on Tuesday.

The NWS office in Northern Indiana has issued a tornado warning for Southeastern Hillsdale County in southeastern Michigan at around 7:30 pm, per local time, (EDT). A severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was near Reading, or 7 miles south of Hillsdale shortly before 7:00 pm. The sweeper has headed northeast at a pace of 40 mph.

Based on radar-indicated rotation, the NWS in its forecast mentioned a tornado and quarter-size hail in the area. Residents have been advised to take shelter as flying debris could be dangerous to those caught without shelter.

The tornado warnings for Battle Creek, Albion, and Marshall are going to remain active till 7:15 pm, per local time. These warnings could be extended anytime soon. Moreover, local storm chasers and forecasters predict that the twister is expected to reach as far as Jackson.

The impact of the tornadic thunderstorm is going to remain over mainly rural areas of southeastern Hillsdale County, including the following locations Cambria, Frontier, Pittsford, Shadyside, Ransom, and Osseo.
