0,0: SHIVAM DUBE FALLS TO SPIN AGAIN IN PBKS VS CSK AFTER T20 WORLD CUP SELECTION

Shivam Dube fell to spin once again for a first ball duck after his T20 World Cup selection during the PBKS vs CSK match in Dharamsala on May 5, Sunday. Dube was selected to the India squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in June because of his big-hitting, especially against spin. However, since his selection on April 30, the left-handed batter has suddenly found his form dip against spinners.

Dube was trapped in front of the stumps by Harpreet Brar in the match against PBKS for a first ball duck, but was able to pick a wicket in the first over he bowled. His luck would run out in the reverse fixture on Sunday against Punjab once again as he was going up against Rahul Chahar. The leg-spinner bowled a delivery outside off, which forced Dube to go for the cut shot. However, he would only be able to edge it to Jitesh Sharma. The first ball of the over saw Chahar get the wicket of Ruturaj Gaikwad, who seemed to be set with 32 runs off 21 balls.

Dube joins a group of T20 World Cup stars who have been failing since being selected to the squad. Skipper Rohit Sharma has scored 4 off 5 and 11 off 12 since the squad announcement came in. Hardik Pandya has also struggled to make an impact with the bat, while he has been decent with the ball.
