ENCOUNTER BREAKS OUT BETWEEN SECURITY FORCES, MILITANTS IN J&K'S BARAMULLA, ONE SUSPECT APPREHENDED

NEW DELHI: The Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted a joint search operation in Uri, Baramulla on Thursday, resulting in the apprehension of one suspected individual.

The operation was initiated following specific inputs from intelligence agencies, as disclosed by the Indian Army's Chinar Corps.

During the operation, security forces successfully recovered a pistol along with other war-like stores.

"Based on specific inputs from intelligence agencies, a Joint Search Operation was launched by #IndianArmy & @JmuKmrPolice today in Uri, Baramulla. One suspected individual has been apprehended along with recovery of 01xPistol & other war-like stores," the Chinar Corps, Indian Army stated in a post on X.

"On specific intelligence input regarding presence of terrorists, a Joint Operation was launched by Indian Army & @JmuKmrPolice today evening in general area Nowpura, Baramulla. The area was cordoned & search conducted, resulting in a fire fight," the Chinar Corps wrote in another post on X.
