WHO IS PAWEł K, RUSSIAN SPY ARRESTED FOR PLOTTING VOLODYMYR ZELENSKYY'S ASSASSINATION?

Pawel K, a Polish national, was arrested Thursday on suspicion that he was working as a Russian spy, plotting the assassination of Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He has been accused of helping Kremlin security services to plan the attack. Poland, with the help of Ukraine, detained him.

The suspect, Pawel K, now faces up to eight years in prison. He was detained in Poland and charged with 'reporting his readiness to act for foreign intelligence', the office of Poland’s National Prosecutor said. The statement further added that he was tasked with 'collecting military intelligence with information on the security of the Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport' to help 'Russian special services plan a possible attack' on Zelenskyy.

The prosectors further added that the arrest is a result of close cooperation between Poland and Ukraine, who tipped the Polish off and also provided crucial evidence. The case is developing, the office said.

The Prosecutor's Office said that an investigation revealed how the suspect had 'declared his readiness to act for the military intelligence' and made contacts with citizens 'directly involved in the war in Ukraine'. They accused him of gathering and sending intelligence to Russia, including info on the security of the Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport.
