Ambuja Cements reported a standalone net profit of 532 crore rupees for the quarter that ended in March 2024, showing a 6% increase compared to the previous year. In the latest report, the Washington Post alleged India’s involvement in Gurpatwant Singh Pannun murder plot. The US-daily named R&AW official Vikram Yadav in the matter and claimed assassination was approved by then R&AW Chief Samant Goel. Reacting to the Washington Post’s report, the White House said, “This is a serious matter, and we’re taking that very, very seriously”. Reacting strongly, MEA cleared its stance on the report and said that the report makes ‘unwarranted’, ‘unsubstantiated’, ‘irresponsible’ claim. As per the US Justice Department indictment, an Indian national, Nikhil Gupta has been charged with the murder-for-hire of Pannun. It also claimed that the plan to assassinate Gurpatwant Singh Pannun was foiled by US authorities.
